How to change employers
How to change employers if you have not received the POE approval letter yet
Step 1: The employer can withdraw the job offer
The employer can withdraw the job offer in his employer portal. They will also receive a refund of the fees.
Instruction for the employer:
- Sign in to the Employer Portal and
- Select Access the offer of employment queue
If you see Withdraw application next to your offer, the offer has not been matched to the work permit application.
- Select Withdraw application.
- Select Continue to confirm that you want to withdraw the offer.
- Read the confirmation message, and select Continue again to return to the Employment queue.
Your offer’s status will change to Withdraw pending.
It can take up to 24 hours for the offer to be withdrawn.
Once completed, the status will change to Withdrawn.
If you don’t see Withdraw application next to your offer, the offer has most likely already been matched to the temporary foreign worker’s work permit application. The work permit application is in progress or has already been finalized. In this case, you won’t be able to withdraw your offer using the portal.
If you still want to withdraw the offer, email us. In your email message, explain that you want to withdraw the offer, and include
- the offer of employment number
- the reason you want to withdraw the offer
Step 2: Apply into the IEC pool again
After the job offer is withdrawn, the work permit will be refused.
Once you receive the refusal letter, you can apply into the IEC pool again.
If you would like to use the Young Professional category again, you have to find another employer, who supports you and pays the fee again to get you the LMIA exempt number for your new application.
