Step 2: GCKey Account
- Go to the IRCC homepage >here< to create a GCKey Account
- If you already have an account from another IEC application, you can use that same account and don’t have to create a new one.
- If you are creating the account for the first time, click the ‘Register’ button.

- If you are applying from outside of Canada, Option 1 is the only option.

- There are quite a few steps to do to create an account, username, password and recovery questions for security.

- After you set up your GCKey you can create the account.

Make sure to write down all your security questions and answers in at least three different places. Trust me—you’ll forget them eventually, and recovering them can be a real hassle. It’s much easier to have them stored safely in multiple locations from the start!
Once you’ve set up all your security questions, you’ll be able to access your GCKey account. However, don’t worry if it still looks empty at first—it’s normal. Your account will fill up with updates as you progress through the application.
